The Parish
The cathedral parish of Stockholm, situated in central Stockholm, in the very heart of the city, has many missions. The parish exists for the residents of the Gamla Stan, Clara and Jacob areas, as well as for those passing through, working in or visiting the city as a whole. Stockholm Cathedral (Storkyrkan) also fulfils a number of important roles within the diocese of Stockholm and at a national level.

The three churches, Storkyrkan, St Clara and St Jacob, run an extensive and diverse programme that includes services, music, teaching, outreach and mission work. An estimated 800,000 people visited these three churches in 2006. As well as visitors there is a huge amount of voluntary work that goes on; initiatives run by choirs, concerts and activities run by assistant organisations.
